Paintings

By Yolanda Dorda

Yolanda Dorda is a Spanish artist born in Barcelona who is exploring female identity through oil paintings and digital art.

The confident brushstrokes depict faces and bodies. The faces are however, no portraits, and the bodies are not academic figures.
A personal and intimate visual language emerges, characterized by emotion, sensuality, eroticism and pain. In the painterly tradition of Lucien Freud, Maria Lassnig, or Jenny Saville, the artist uses painting— and digital art par excellence —to penetrate the discrepancy between the social interpretation and the individual experience of female identity.
